The Vermont State Guard

The Vermont State Guard is open to all persons in Vermont age 17 to 80 interested in volunteer service to their fellow citizens. The VSG is a military organization, but prior service is not required to join.

Because of Vermont National Guard requirements, it is necessary for prospective members to pass a Vermont Criminal Investigation Center (VCIC) check at a non-refundable cost of $30.  A certified bank check or money order  made payable  to VCIC is the only acceptable form of payment. Do not send personal checks or cash.

Other than uniform costs, and the VCIC fee, there are no other fees or dues required to be a member of the Vermont State Guard.
